MAM - Italian Art Masters and Crafts, the awards

JVF

A real tribute to the Italian Masters of Art, to creativity and Made in Italy excellence. The awards ceremony took place on Monday 26 October, this year in an entirely digital version, of the third edition of MAM, an award promoted every two years since 2016 by the Cologni dei Mestieri d'Arte Foundation, in collaboration with ALMA, La Scuola Internazionale of Italian Cuisine.

A rich audience of protagonists divided into different categories of artistic craftsmanship (78 Masters appointed in 2020). From ceramics to jewelry to wood and furniture, from metals to mechanics to mosaic, from glass to leather goods to art printing to restoration, from theater to textiles...up to the crafts of taste and the art of hospitality (13 Masters).

In the category "Jewelry, Silverware, Goldsmithing", were awarded Franco Blumer, Arcangelo Bungaro, Stefano Marchetti, Massimo Maria Melis, Renato Miracoli and Tommaso Peste.

'This pandemic left something positive. The most common reaction, which we have detected at least in our country, was to relive our places, our mountains, our countryside, the beauty of our coasts, as well as a new passion for our artisan culture - underlined the President by ALMA Enzo Malanca -. In this regard, I spontaneously thank all of the myriads of small entrepreneurs and artisans, whom we partly reward today. Their sacrifice and self-denial have allowed us to maintain our great traditions, paying more attention to the affection of their work than to mere economic interest'.

On the occasion of the 2020 award, all the masters, supporters and friends of the art professions were invited to sign and divulge the special Appeal that Fondazione Cologni, with the OMA-Osservatorio dei Mestieri d'Arte and Associazione Fatti ad Arte, is bringing forward in favor of artistic handicrafts, hard hit by the crisis and the health emergency.
