THE PREMIÈRE COMPETITION: THE CREATIVE EXCELLENCE OF MADE IN ITALY
Among the most anticipated highlights of the event is the 35th edition of the Première competition, conceived by Beppe Angiolini, Art Director of Oroarezzo and Honorary President of the National Chamber of Fashion Buyers, which celebrates the excellence of "Made in Italy" goldsmith manufacturing. Fifty-three companies from all Italian gold districts have submitted their creations—unique pieces crafted based on the 2026 theme: "The Invisible Weight of Sweetness." This concept invites designers to create jewelry in harmony with the body, blending lightness, wearability, and design quality. Displayed throughout the event in a dedicated setup in the entrance foyer, the competing jewels offer international buyers a showcase of the creativity and technical skills of Italy's finest manufacturers. Schools and institutes are also participating, submitting sketches from the best under-30 talents and aspiring goldsmiths in the "Talents" category.
Selection is entrusted to a jury chaired by Beppe Angiolini and composed of industry professionals, journalists, and opinion leaders. The winning creations will be revealed on Sunday, May 10th, from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM. This will be followed by an invitation-only cocktail party hosted by Beppe Angiolini at the Sugar showroom to celebrate Première and the city of Arezzo.
