The house museum at Via Manzoni presents, from 24th November 2016 to 20th March 2017, the history of Italian jewelry of the twentieth century and its protagonists, through the exhibition of over 150 works gathered in the exhibition “The Italian jewel of the twentieth century”: a homage to Italian know-how craftsmanship.
With this valuable event – says Annalisa Zanni, Director of the Museum – the Poldi Pezzoli Museum has chosen to continue its path of exploitation of the decorative arts and artistic trades that have characterized the identity of the Italian production since the past, thanks to the quality of works and talent of great artists who have made them. This chance also allows you to highlight the richness and variety of collections that the Gian Giacomo Poldi Pezzoli’s museum house of exposes because it is worldwide known”. The exhibition, organized by the historic jewel Melissa Gabardi, Annalisa Zanni and the Poldi Pezzoli Museum, tells, for the first time, the scenario of the Italian production of the ‘900, tracing the evolution through chronological sections dedicated to new historicism, Liberty and Art Deco, through the production of the ‘30, ‘40 and ‘50, up to the ’60, ’70, ’80 and ‘90: the path of the birth of the “made in Italy”.
